The Process

Four tensions. Five patterns. One correction sequence.

Misalignment isn’t random. It follows predictable patterns. Here’s exactly how the LIFE Alignment Diagnostic finds yours, and what it does about it.

A quick alignment check

Each layer of the LIFE Framework has one core question. These four questions are the foundation of the diagnostic. Answer them honestly, then ask yourself how clearly you can answer each one.

L, Life Vision
"If you could accomplish one thing in the next 5 years without the fear of failure, what would it be? Why?"
Without a clear answer here, every layer below it operates without direction.
I, Identity
"What are the core values that define who you are, and are they actually guiding how you live each day?"
Identity stabilizes behavior. Unclear values produce inconsistent actions.
F, Focus
"What are the most important roles in your life right now, and what does success look like in each one?"
Without deliberate prioritization, energy fragments across everything equally urgent.
E, Execution
"What actions, if taken consistently, would move you closer to the vision you described?"
Execution only compounds when the three layers above it are aligned.

If any of those questions felt hard to answer clearly, that’s the signal. The diagnostic identifies which layer is most misaligned and gives you the precise starting point.

Does any of this sound familiar?

The Diagnostic identifies which pattern is yours, and gives you the correction sequence.

  • You’ve read the books, tried the systems, done the work, and still keep cycling through the same patterns
  • You work hard, produce results, and still feel hollow at the end of the day
  • Something is clearly off, but you can’t name what it is
  • You’re successful on paper but feel scattered underneath it

The five patterns the Diagnostic identifies:

Pattern 01
Vision Drift
  • Goals keep shifting without a clear direction
  • Busy but never feel like you're moving forward
  • Motivation collapses when things get hard
  • Reacting to life instead of directing it
Pattern 02
Identity Conflict
  • Values and daily behavior keep contradicting each other
  • Internal resistance that's hard to explain
  • Restarting the same goals with the same result
  • Gap between who you say you are and how you show up
Pattern 03
Focus Fragmentation
  • Everything feels equally urgent
  • Can't decide what actually deserves your energy
  • Overwhelmed and exhausted with little to show for it
  • Effort disperses instead of compounding
Pattern 04
Execution Gap
  • Solid plans that never materialize into results
  • Great at starting, not finishing
  • Restarting the same system every few weeks
  • Intention is there, follow-through isn't
Pattern 05
Alignment Breakdown
  • Burned out despite working hard
  • Feeling stuck despite real effort
  • Loss of meaning or direction
  • Cycling through restarts with no traction

Why most people stay stuck and unfulfilled

It’s not a lack of discipline. It’s solving the right problem at the wrong layer.

Most personal growth tools skip the diagnostic step. They hand you a system and assume you’re working on the right problem. You’re not. That’s why people read every productivity book and still feel behind.

The real issue is layer mismatch, applying execution solutions to focus problems, focus solutions to identity problems, identity solutions to vision problems. Effort increases. Results don’t.

What they try
Better habits & productivity systems
Root cause
Life Vision is unclear
What they try
More discipline & accountability
Root cause
Identity is in conflict
What they try
Time blocking & prioritization tools
Root cause
Focus is fragmented at the role level
What they try
New routines, apps & tracking systems
Root cause
Execution collapses because upper layers aren’t aligned
The correction sequence

Alignment must be built from the inside out. Fixing a lower layer before a higher one is stable produces results that don’t hold.

L
Life Vision
Direction and purpose must come first. Without it, everything downstream is noise.
I
Identity
Values and principles stabilize behavior. Discipline built on unstable identity doesn’t hold.
F
Focus
Roles and priorities clarify where energy goes. Productivity without focus is just fast drift.
E
Execution
Daily action compounds only when the three layers above are aligned.
Expansion
When all four layers are aligned and sustained, capability grows, contribution deepens, and progress compounds over time.
The Diagnostic identifies which layer to fix first, so effort goes where it actually produces results.

Four tensions that pull you off course

Misalignment isn’t random. It’s produced by four predictable tensions built into how we live. Understanding which one is driving your pattern is the first step to resolving it.

Vision vs Comfort
Produces: Vision Drift

A meaningful life vision requires sacrifice, uncertainty, and long-term commitment. Comfort pulls toward safety and short-term reward. When comfort wins consistently, vision shrinks, or disappears entirely. People don’t abandon their goals because they’re lazy. They abandon them because no structure is protecting the vision from the daily pull of what’s easier.

Identity vs Impulse
Produces: Identity Conflict

Identity is built from values and principles. But daily behavior is constantly challenged by emotions, impulses, and short-term desires. When impulse overrides identity, people act in ways that contradict who they say they are. The result isn’t weakness, it’s an unresolved gap between character and habit that compounds over time.

Focus vs Distraction
Produces: Focus Fragmentation

Modern life competes relentlessly for attention. Responsibilities multiply, opportunities expand, and digital environments create continuous distraction. The challenge isn’t productivity, it’s deciding which responsibilities truly deserve attention and which distractions must be intentionally ignored. Without that clarity, attention scatters.

Execution vs Resistance
Produces: Execution Gap

Even when vision is clear, identity is defined, and priorities are set, taking consistent action meets internal resistance. Fear, fatigue, procrastination, and uncertainty disrupt follow-through. Progress requires the willingness to act in alignment with your commitments even when motivation is low. The system has to be stronger than the resistance.

How the Diagnostic works

Three steps. Ten minutes. A clear answer about why your life feels off track, and what to fix first.

1
Answer 32 behavioral questions
Each question is designed to surface how you actually behave, not how you aspire to behave. No right or wrong answers. Honest responses produce accurate results.
Covers all four layers: Vision, Identity, Focus & Execution
2
The system identifies your pattern
Your responses are scored across 16 behavioral dimensions. The diagnostic engine identifies which layer is most misaligned and which of the five failure patterns is active in your life right now.
One of five patterns: Vision Drift, Identity Conflict, Focus Fragmentation, Execution Gap, or Alignment Breakdown
3
You get a correction sequence
Not a score. Not a generic recommendation. A specific starting point, the layer to address first, and why, so you stop fixing the wrong problem and start making real progress.
